| Techniques/Philosophy All sexual problems (except a few sexual dysfunctions due to psychological factors) have their origin in the mind, and can be treated by changing the client's thinking, feelings, and behaviors. My treatment approach, therefore, is cognitive-behavorial. It sparts with a description of the problem by the client which is usually a listing of symptoms. A detailed clinical interview is conducted to identify cognitive and emotional factors underlying the symptoms leading to the specification of objective goals of treatment and formulation of a cognitive-behavioral treatment plan. The plan strategies are implemented by the client under my supervision. The progress is monitoreduntil the goals are achieved. Because no two prople are exactly alike, the therapy is client centered and individualized. |
